Via the hiking tracks in the Oostvaarders forest and visitors centre The Oostvaarders you can discover this nature reserve. You will find special cattle and birds. Bird lovers can also visit the Lepelaarsplassen.
Almeerderhout is also worth a visit, with its 3 forrests, with several cycling, hiking and skeelering tracks. Get to know this beautiful area.
Almere is surrounded by water (Gooi-, Ij and Markerlake). Lovers of water sports can enjoy wake boarding and surfing. In the several lakes you will find marinas which can provide more information about water sports and possibilities to discover Almere per boat. The beach of Almere (former beach of Muiden) is a large sandy beach at the IJlake, near Almere. A lot of festivals and events are being held at the Almeerderstrand.
